NECO Releases 2022 SSCE Results

The results of the 2022 Senior Secondary School Certificate examination have been released by the National Examinations Council.

At the NECO Headquarters in Minna, Niger State, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar of NECO, released the results on Thursday.

In addition to the outcomes, Wushishi said that 29 supervisors were placed on a blacklist by the council due to their alleged involvement in numerous malpractice offenses.

He added that four institutions had their recognition revoked for two years due to repeated violations.

Wushishi further disclosed that compared to previous years, the council saw a decrease in cheating during the internal senior school certificate exams in 2022.

He said that there has been a noticeable decrease in examination fraud.

13,595 malpractice cases were discovered as opposed to 20,003 in 2021, showing a noticeably lower number of malpractice cases.

“Twenty-nine supervisors were placed on the blacklist for a variety of offenses, including inadequate supervision, insulting, and aiding and abetting during the exams.”

Dantani gave the number of candidates that registered for the Examinations as 1,209,703 whereas 1,198,412 sat for the examination.

He added that there were 727,864 candidatesโ€”or 60.74 percentโ€”who received five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics.

The 1,031 individuals with special needs, according to Dantani, include 98 people with albinism, 177 people with autism, 574 people with hearing problems, and 107 people who are visually impaired.
