Bigmen in Imo State, a phrase used to define the well to do individuals, have gone into hiding, or rather taken safety measures, as insecurity continue to rise in the State capital, Owerri.
Government Appointees are the worst hit with most of them staying away from their offices and duty posts.
This came on the heels of staccato gunshots by unknown gunmen which rent the air on Sunday and Monday nights at Orji, and Ama Hausa areas, including the popular Douglas Road, sending fear down the spines of Owerri residents.
Imo State Commissioner for Entrepreneur was reportedly shot by unknown gunmen on Sunday night, forcing appointees of the State Governor to flee from their offices from Monday and resolve to stay safe.
